Year 3 – Tigers
Welcome to the Year 3 Tigers class page! Our teacher is Miss Brady and we are supported by Miss Jones.
We always try to work hard in the Tigers class and have fun along the way too! Our days are very busy and exciting. Throughout the year we will continue to learn our instruments with In Harmony, have weekly PE lessons with Harry and continue learning Spanish with Mrs Bennaceur. Later in the year, we will also have Dance lessons with Dean.
Miss Sharratt will teach our RE lessons and Mr Navin will teach PSHE each week.
In English we usually base our learning around a text. This year we will explore a range of books including ‘The Tin Forest’.

In Maths, we will continue to use all four operations and are developing our problem solving and reasoning skills. Times-tables are a big focus and we are working hard to get our badges. We use Times Tables Rockstars online to help with our speed and fluency.

In Science we are looking forward to carrying out lots of investigations and learning about Forces and Magnets, Rocks and Fossils, Light, Animals including Humans and Plants.
We will continue to develop our History skills while learning about the Romans and their invasion of Britain. We will also learn about Lord Armstrong as a local significant figure.
We will continue to be geographers and develop our compass and map reading skills. We will have a focus study on Italy and will learn about how volcanoes have affected people living there.
We will continue to develop our Art skills through making a Roman style mosaic. We will also learn about Italian artists.
In DT we will develop our design and creation skills to complete a textiles project, a coding project and a cookery project.
In Computing we will learn about computer systems and networks, coding and we will continue to learn about being safe online.
We always try to bring our reading folders into school every day so that we can read in class and have our books changed regularly.
We have been set a challenge of trying to read 100 books before leaving Lower Key Stage 2. Who will read the most?
