Head Teacher’s Welcome

I am extremely proud to be the Head Teacher of Bridgewater School. The dedicated staff team, including volunteers, work tirelessly to ensure the children receive the best education and care. We provide our children with an engaging, relevant curriculum that meets their needs and ensure children receive the support they need while encouraging independence in their learning. Relationships are a strength of our school and we offer a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and safe. In this context children flourish. We provide the children with a range of opportunities to enable them to shine whether it’s through their singing, acting, writing, art or sport, as well as expecting all children to achieve at least the national levels in reading, writing and maths. We have achieved a number of awards that recognise this work such as the Arts Mark, Investors in Children, International School Award and Quality Mark in Basic Skills.

We are very fortunate to have four minibuses and a very popular breakfast club, a range of after school and holiday activities, a family support worker and an active Friends of Bridgewater group which includes parents, staff and members of the community. Our children play an active part in our community and we continue to be involved in many activities linked to the regeneration of Scotswood.

At Bridgewater we will ensure each child meets their full potential and will experience a range of opportunities which will raise their aspirations. Through strong links with a range of partners we will ensure they leave us having been taught to think, problem solve, work collaboratively, express themselves showing tolerance and respect so they are capable, confident individuals. Our vision is to ensure outstanding outcomes for our children by, ‘working together to improve learning for all’.
