Gardening Club

We offer a weekly gardening club for our pupils and also children who use our wrap around service. Our gardening club runs on a Monday straight after school and finishes at 4:00pm.

Through gardening club the children learn about different vegetables and plants, as well as learning about the significance of planting wild flowers and the importance of pollinators.

The fun activities that have happened so far this year:

  • Harvesting potatoes and other vegetables.
  • Building a ‘bug hotel’ to introduce the idea of natural pest control and the importance of habitats.
  • Continuing with composting.
  • Making bird feeders.
  • Planting tulip bulbs given to us by the Rotary club to raise awareness for polio.
  • As well as more general jobs, including sowing vegetables, potting, weeding and raking.
